A great variety of wildlife and birds can be spotted there. Wild Asian Ox, many species of monkeys, reptiles, birds (Great Hornbills can be spotted almost daily), and recently a group of guests in kayaks on the lake, followed a solitary sun bear for 30 minutes – an amazing sight. Elephant Hills Safari Camp is Thailand’s first luxury tented jungle camp – 30 luxurious tailor-made tents set in the rainforest in Khao Sok. Tents offer twin beds, fan, kettle, bathroom and toilet, mosquito nets (not always needed), handmade furniture using natural materials and good reading lights. The restaurant, a focal point for meeting other guests, is in the centre of the camp.
Evening Entertainment at Elephant Hills
Not only are the sleeping arrangements luxurious but there is an excellent swimming pool , perfect for that late-evening swim as you watch the sun set over the rainforest or just enjoy a poolside drink. Later on move to the Jungle Explorers’ bar which is fully stocked with wines, spirits, beers and soft drinks.
During the evening the resident cooks demonstrate their expertise as they make various local delicacies, and afterwards, local schools perform traditional dances and mingle with the guests.
The Luxury Floating Tented Camp offers similar entertainment, plus lake exploration, jungle trek through the forest, swimming in the emerald green waters of the late and a canoe safari through the lake’s channels.
